Nine-day-old seedling roots (5 days after transfer to fresh 1/2 MS medium with or without 100 mM NaCl) were used for 2D gel electrophoresis. Proteins were isolated by the Bio-Rad <t>ReadyPrep</t> 2-D Cleanup Kit (Bio- Rad) and loaded on Bio-Rad ReadyStrip IPG Strips (pH 3–10 and pH 4–7) for separation based on their isoelectric point. The second separation of proteins via molecular weight was done using 10% SDS-PAGE. Proteins were visualized with Coomassie blue dye. A green plus symbol was used to indicate the position of the protein spots in the pictures.
